Rio Vista General Plan Data Layer

This dataset represents the General Plan data layer for the City of Rio Vista, Solano County, California. The General Plan serves as a long-term blueprint for land development and conservation, guiding physical development within the city's jurisdiction.

Under California law, every county and city must adopt a comprehensive General Plan to regulate land use. Zoning, development codes, and individual projects must align with General Plan goals, policies, and standards. This dataset provides preliminary planning information but may not reflect the most recent updates. Refer to the City of Rio Vista Planning website for the latest information.

General Plan Update

The last comprehensive update to Rio Vista’s General Plan was in 2001.

The upcoming General Plan 2045 is expected in 2024.

GP 2045 has not yet been approved and is not reflected in this dataset.

Data Notes & Review

Symbolized by attribute field “LU”.

Two polygons labeled “M” were defined as “Middle School” in the 2001 General Plan Land Use Map (Fig. 4.3, Pg. 4-19).

Further review suggests these may instead represent “RM” (Multi-Family Residential or Manufactured Home).

The 2024 data layer received did not contain an “RM” classification, so some “M” classifications may be incorrect.

Pending confirmation from Rio Vista review.
